Wind bribery

Residents who live near wind turbines have been promised cheaper electricity bills (your report, 20 November). Good
Energy said customers could save £100 a year from their bills. Then the qualification “provided planning permission is granted”.

This is nothing less than blatant and unwelcome bribery, so that as developers, Good Energy starts harvesting the mouth-
watering subsidies that are added to electricity bills.

Electricity bills include 13 to 15 per cent due entirely to wind subsidies and connecting wind energy to the grid.
