Remember Iraq

Since the terrible tragedy in Algeria, “the war on terror” is back in the headlines.

All attacks by terrorists are horrific and should be roundly condemned as such.

It should not be forgotten that one of the world’s worst terrorist attacks was perpetrated almost ten years ago, with the bombing of the innocent people of Iraq, which left hundreds of thousands dead, injured, orphaned, their homes in rubble, their communities devastated, and due to the use of chemical weapons, babies born brain-damaged, minus limbs, or with two heads, or no head at all.

Ten years on, nobody responsible for the devastation wreaked on Iraq has been brought to justice in a court of law.

The excuse for the invasion of Iraq was that it possessed weapons of mass destruction. They didn’t have weapons of mass destruction.

We’ve got the weapons of mass destruction.
