Pressing matter

The death of nurse, Jacintha Saldanha (your reports), who reportedly committed suicide following the hoax call to the King Edward VII Hospital while the Duchess of Cambridge was a patient, was an unnecessary and utter tragedy.

The brainless Australian DJs who perpetrated the hoax call could not have known that their actions would result in a death and they will have to live with that guilt for the rest of their lives. Nevertheless, their actions were symptomatic of a world where childish behaviour is acceptable, while decency and thought for others are ignored in an effort to be funny or achieve some sort of celebrity status.

However, why were nurses left to fend off questions about the duchess’s condition? Where were members of the royal press corps, even at that ungodly time of the morning?
