Odd priorities
Does “high pressure” selling of solar panels, especially to the “vulnerable”, include selling to local authorities? (Letters, 14 January). Seemingly, Aberdeenshire Council has lodged a planning application for 200 solar panels for Inverurie Academy roof. Yet private developers have withdrawn applications for 2,000 panels on north-east farmlands as “not financially viable”.
Why is a council planning this project with seemingly more to follow? Is it ideologically driven by the “rainbow coalition”, irrespective of the market saying “it’s not worth it”? Arguably, there are different “moral choices” – say restoring cuts in school support staff, such as classroom assistants.
