Food or armies?

Are the “key issues” in ending world hunger those listed in the Scottish church leaders’ letter (25 January)?

Surely, the picture of Chadian troops “preparing for deployment in Mali” graphically shows the “key moral issue”.

It is ironic that these troops and those from Burkina Faso are from the poorest countries on earth. Perhaps spiritual leaders can find out how poor countries afford their armies and who supplies them.
