Cheering Brown

A REPORT last week by the Irish Central Bank showing that the incomes in Irish households have dropped by 33 per cent since the banking crisis is deeply worrying. Irish households are the worst hit in Europe, even more so than Greece or Portugal.

With the forthcoming referendum in Ireland threatening the real possibility that the euro could collapse, it is perhaps time to reflect on the last ten years of Nick Clegg and Alex Salmond attacking Gordon Brown for not joining the euro. Thank goodness our former chancellor from Fife turned a deaf ear.
