Suu Kyi heads ‘rule of law’ committee

Burma’s opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been named chairwoman of a new parliamentary committee that is to monitor and help implement the rule of law under the country’s new government.

Her appointment to head the “rule of law and tranquility committee” was announced yesterday. It consists of 15 lawmakers.
