Salvation Army doctor ordered out

The Salvation Army in Zimbabwe yesterday gave a Canadian doctor 48 hours to leave the country after he was fired from a mission hospital.

Dr Paul Thistle, chief medical officer at the Howard hospital about 50 miles north-east of Harare, said the order was “not a legal decision” by the authorities. He clashed with church leaders over fundraising.
