Church leaders sign reconciliation pact

THE leaders of Russia’s Orthodox church and Poland’s Catholic church signed a document yesterday that urges their nations to forgive each other for past wrongs.

Patriarch Kirill and Archbishop Jozef Michalik said the signing was a historic act of reconciliation and established a bridge between their denominations.

The document was signed at Warsaw’s Royal Castle.
