Britain and Iran formalise closures

Iran said it has agreed with Britain to formalise the closure of diplomatic offices in each other’s capitals.

Both countries shut down their diplomatic missions after Iranian hardliners stormed Britain’s embassy in Tehran last year. Foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that the Omani Embassy in London will now handle Iran’s interests, while Sweden’s embassy in Tehran will do the same for Britain.
