Peer calls for ban on smoking in cars

Motorists should be banned from smoking in cars when children are present, a surgeon and Tory peer has said.

Lord Ribeiro, a former president of the Royal College of Surgeons, said his attempt to change the law would improve public health. Under his plan, drivers would face a £60 fine if caught smoking in a car with a child under the age of 18 on board.
