The Scotsman launches Android tablet versions

THE Scotsman has launched new Android tablet apps, to complement its existing iPad app, offering the latest news throughout the day as well as complete electronic copies of the newspaper.

The apps - which are now available on the Amazon Appstore and Google Play, as well as the Apple App Store – have been designed to offer readers a dynamic way to keep up to date whether at home or on the move.

They feature full articles, videos and picture galleries plus the ability to browse through complete downloadable editions of the paper which can also be read offline later.

The Scotsman iPad app has also been updated to include larger pictures with articles redesigned to make them easier to browse.

Existing users can upgrade their version through the Apple App Store.

Print subscribers of The Scotsman are entitled to any version of the app to suit their device as part of their subscription.

Alternatively readers can subscribe to the app through the app stores, and will get 30 days free access.

Announcing the launch of the apps, editor of The Scotsman Ian Stewart said:

“The existing Scotsman iPad has gone from strength to strength and we are delighted to be able to offer this quality product to users of other devices.

“It gives our readers, no matter where they are in the world, the opportunity to read The Scotsman as a normal newspaper or in a multimedia format.”

Find the apps in the app stores by searching for title name. Print subscribers will soon be sent unique subscription numbers to access the app after the initial 30 day free period.

To subscribe to the newspaper and get free access to a choice of the tablet apps, go to www.scotsman.com/subscribe.
