Game review: Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

THE GAMES within the Lego series were in danger of becoming too similar, through the overuse of gameplay elements and constant recycling of ideas.

However, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a step forward, bringing together the biggest names from DC comics and throwing them into a superb story.

The Joker and Lex Luthor team up to terrorise Gotham City, giving Batman and Robin a challenge they can’t overcome alone. This is where the rest of the DC roster comes into play, including Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and the Green Lantern. Each character has unique skills, including Batman’s gadgets, Superman’s heat vision, and the Flash’s immense speed.

When these skills are used together, your team can collect coins to unlock new characters, as well as accessing hidden areas and bonuses. At the centre of the plot is Gotham City. Explore in the Batmobile and other vehicles, discovering secrets, and stopping crime.

The open-world approach is superb, expanding the Lego formula beyond the tighter levels found in previous games. It’s a smart move, and the decision to add voices to characters is a brilliant idea too, giving rise to hilarious moments that will delight gamers of all ages. If you’re a fan of Lego or the DC universe, you need to check out this game.
