Ursula Andress is still the tops

URSULA Andress is still the world’s favourite Bond girl, according to a survey carried out by a swimwear manufacturer.

Although it is 50 years since the Swedish actress emerged from a tropical sea in a glistening bikini as Honey Ryder in Dr No, the moment is still seared on the memories of the movie-going public.

The enduring popularity of the curvaceous actress shows that curves are still in fashion – despite the predominance of stick-thin teenage models on the catwalk.

Debenhams, which carried out the poll, says demand for gel-filled bikinis has increased 132 per cent since last year.

Swimwear buyer Sasha Nagalingam said: “The voluptuous look is still coveted by women and men all over the country.”
