Rob Cormie formed advisory company after quitting QM

Former Quayle Munro director Rob Cormie has been lured from his own advisory firm to become group operations director for the new Green Investment Bank (GIB).

Cormie left Quayle Munro as it pulled out of Edinburgh in the summer and set up his own practice advising the renewable energy sector, which he expected to be boosted by the establishment of the GIB in the Scottish capital. Now he has been brought in to oversee the key operations of the bank, which has a budget of £3 billion to support energy projects.

Under chief executive Shaun Kingsbury, he will be responsible for operations including HR, IT and communications.

He said: “I’m thrilled to be given this opportunity to work alongside Shaun and the team to build a significant and enduring financial institution, which will continue to position the UK as a leader in the renewable energy market.”
