Nicola Sturgeon: two coronavirus deaths in Scotland in last 24 hours

Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed the latest coronavirus figures for Scotland.

Speaking at her daily press briefing, the First Minister confirmed that two more people had died from the virus in the last 24 hours.

It brings the total death toll of people who tested positive for Covid-19 to 2,482.

Confirmed cases of the virus have now reached 18,196, an increase of five on the day before.

The number of patients in hospital with confirmed or suspected coronavirus stands at 826 - 54 fewer than yesterday.

18 people are now being treated for the virus in Scotland’s intensive care units.

Since March 5, 4,034 people treated in hospital for Covid-19 have recovered and been discharged.
