A near-flawless Rafael Nadal crushed Lleyton Hewitt 6-1, 6-2, while Roger Federer beat El Salvador's Rafael Arevalo 6-2, 6-4 in an entertaining tussle at the Olympic Tennis Centre.
Meanwhile, Andy and Jamie Murray will face French duo Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra in the second round of the Olympic doubles at 9am (BST) today.
