Yogi looking to squeeze Hibs for more
HIBS boss John Hughes today insisted that he's focusing on the players he already has at Easter Road – as the club were linked with a move for Michael Hart.
The former Aberdeen and Livingston defender has been told by current club Preston that he can go out on loan after injury curtailed his career at Deepdale. The 29-year-old player has made just six starts this season and has yet to make an appearance under new manager Darren Ferguson.
If a deal can be done in time, Hart could even be in line to make an appearance against Hamilton at Easter Road tomorrow.
However, although admitting he's keen to bring in some new faces during this transfer window, Hughes refused to be drawn on Hart and stressed that the current squad are his only interest right now.
He said: "I've really enjoyed working with the boys who are already at the club but I still think that we can get that wee bit more out of them. One or two of them have got a bit to go and can give me even more, I know they can.
"They're a great bunch of guys but it would be nice if we were able to bring in one or two new faces just to help them along.
"We're working away on a few things but that's really down to the board and the chairman now.
"My job is to concentrate fully on the players that we've got here already and to make sure we're getting the best out of them."
Meanwhile, Hughes revealed that he is hoping Merouane Zemmama, who will miss tomorrow's match with a hamstring problem, will be back in time for the midweek game against Celtic.
Hughes added: "Zouma won't make Saturday unfortunately, but we are hoping that he will be ready for Wednesday.
"It would be good if he was available for that game because that is his kind of stage."
