Wolves lose out to Titans
IN an epic match of American Football, Edinburgh Wolves were unable to bring down the visiting Manchester Titans and lost out 35-30.
The Wolves looked sunk in the first quarter at Meadowbank when Titans jumped to a 19-point lead, but Edinburgh fought back with two scores of their own in the high-scoring first quarter.
A low-scoring second quarter followed, with rain playing a large role, and the half time score was 14-22. Edinburgh were still in with a chance to win at that stage.
The Wolves found the endzone with David Glendinning's second scoring pass of the day, this time to Paul Jeffreys. A successful two point run by Campbell Lewis evened the score at 22-22, but Manchester then scored twice in quick succession, and with five minutes left they led 35-22.
Edinburgh then marched down field thanks to the running of Allan Price and Campbell Lewis, who scored the touchdown and conversion for the Wolves, leaving the score 35-30, but on the ensuing restart Edinburgh kicker Neil Warren slipped and any chance of a Wolves recovery was lost.
It meant Manchester were able to simply run down the clock, and escape with the win.
