Winters leaves East Stirling out in the cold
THIRD Division reports
East Stirling 0 Livingston 2
GARY Bollan's Livingston marched to a seven-point lead at the top of the table following a crucial 2-0 win over East Stirling at Ochilview.
It was widely anticipated that this clash between the top two would be a tight affair but Livingston were devastatingly dominant from start to finish. The visitors took a deserved lead after 14 minutes when a Robbie Winters cross deflected off Rafa de Vita and Andrew Halliday slammed home the loose ball.
Livingston's control on the game was strengthened when Shire were reduced to ten men in the 56th minute after Michael Bolochoweckyj was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Winters. Eight minutes later Winters scored Livingston's second as he converted a cross from the outstanding Keaghan Jacobs.
Montrose 0 Elgin City 4
ELGIN enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win over Montrose in the basement battle at Links Park.
There was little to separate the sides until Montrose's Chris Hegarty was ordered off for a second booking in the 42nd minute. Shane Sutherland put the visitors ahead on the stroke of half-time. Moments after the break, Gavin Morrison doubled Elgin's lead and substitute Craig Gunn added two goals late on.
Queen's Park 1 Forfar Athletic 3
FORFAR continued their fine run of form with a convincing 3-1 win against Queen's Park at Hampden. The visitors opened the scoring after only six minutes as Barry Sellars volleyed home. To make matters worse for Queen's Park they had Ricky Little dismissed in the 37th minute for a professional foul on Ian Harty. However, the hosts grabbed an equaliser in the 64th minute courtesy of a stunning Barry Douglas free-kick.
Paul Watson soon headed Forfar back in front, though, and Ian Campbell set up Harty for Forfar's third.
Berwick Rangers 0 Annan Athletic 2
BERWICK'S dismal run of results continued as goals from Chris Jardine and Graham Bell gave Annan a 2-0 win at Shielfield Park.
