Win or lose, Bairns will take open-top bus tour in Falkirk
FALKIRK will parade through the town in an open-top bus this evening – even if they lose this afternoon's Homecoming Scottish Cup final against Rangers.
The Bairns will set off from the site of their beloved old Brockville Park, now a Morrisons supermarket, and wend their way through the streets before ending their journey at the new Falkirk Stadium.
Beginning some time after 7pm, the coach will make its way along Newmarket Street, past the Post Office, round to Kerse Lane and onto Grangemouth Road before coming to a halt at the ground.
Falkirk head to Hampden this afternoon seeking their first cup win since 1957. And having escaped the clutches of relegation from the SPL and qualified for Europe for the first time – by virtue of the fact that their opponents in the final have already secured their European qualification – as well as reaching the Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-finals, the club are hopeful fans will come out to celebrate an unforgettable season.
A spokesman said: "Obviously we are hopeful it will be a victory parade but, win or lose, the bus will still set off from the old Brockville, a place which holds many happy memories for supporters."
