Wilson eager to sort out future with Inverness

VETERAN Inverness winger Barry Wilson is hoping to thrash out his long-term future before the turn of the year.

The 36-year-old, who has been used mainly as a substitute this season, is out of contract in January.

Wilson said:: "Hopefully, within the next week or two, I'll be sitting down with the manager about whether we are going to extend it and what is the best thing to do for myself and, most importantly, the best thing for the club."

Wilson, who began his second spell at Caley Thistle in 2003, was given a rare start against Hearts two weeks ago.

"I was quite happy with the way I played," he said. "The first half against Hearts was pretty good.

"The fact that I am 36 obviously does not help. But, being out for so long, any player to come in after no starts for the first two or three months was going to find it difficult.

"I was no different. After an hour, the lack of match sharpness maybe told and the manager decided to take me off.

"But I am ready for any role the manager sees fit just now and will just try to keep working hard and show that I can still do it."
