The store, in the city’s flagship Trinity shopping centre, adds to Rox’s existing network of three shops in Glasgow and one each in Aberdeen and Edinburgh. A branch in Newcastle-upon-Tyne is due to open next month.

The Leeds “concept boutique”, which includes a Champagne bar, focuses on the firm’s own range of diamonds, silver jewellery and luxury goods. It was designed by Graven Images, which also worked on Rox’s shops in Glasgow’s Argyll Arcade and Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.

Managing director Kyron Keogh, who founded the jeweller with Grant Mitchell in 2002, said: “The opening of the new boutique has already created ten jobs and we will be starting our festive recruitment process soon, which will create five further temporary positions.”
