AN unexplained oval-shaped object was spotted by TV viewers who tuned in to the opening

ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

Over one billion people tuned in on Friday night to watch the glittering curtain-raiser where a saucer-shaped object was spotted near the close of the event at the Olympic Park stadium in the east end of London.

The slow-moving craft has sparked debate online on whether it is in fact a UFO.

Examiner.com suggests that the ‘UFO’ could in fact be a blimp used to gather footage with some posters on YouTube suggesting it could be part of the security apparatus.
