Video: from battlefield injury to Commonwealth Games

Waiting for Video...

THE Commonwealth Games is full of incredible stories of courage, but few match that of Micky Yule in the Scottish camp who takes to the arena this weekend.

Yule has had to wait for his opportunity, but then having lost his legs fighting for his country in Afghanistan four years ago patience is something the Musselburgh man has in abundance. In the latest ‘Scotsman at the Games’ episode, he recalls how the accident happened in 2010 and how the Commonwealth Games in his home country brought a fresh focus and motivation in his life.

He is now focused firmly on improving Scotland’s medal count in the final weekend of action, when he steps on to the powerlifting stage tomorrow (Saturday).
