Tweed quits Montrose
Montrose player/manager Steven Tweed has reluctantly resigned due to increased work commitments. He informed the players of the decision after yesterday's match at Annan.
Tweed, who has been in charge at Links Park since January 2009, has recently started working in a senior managerial position with Royal Bank of Scotland and he has found it difficult to combine this with managing the Third Division side. Tweed, 38, said: "I have tried to combine everything but it has simply not been possible, so I have decided to end my time at Montrose."
Assistant Ray Farningham will take over on a temporary basis.
Tweed remains registered as a player but it is unlikely he will play again for Montrose although he has refused to rule out a loan move elsewhere.
