Turks see off Scots kids
SCOTLAND'S under-17 side turned in a much-improved performance in their second match in the European Championships in Turkey but still went down 1-0 to the host nation, writes DAVID HARDIE.
Beaten 2-0 by Serbia in their opening game, the young Scots had several chances with both Archie Campbell and Scott Durie of Rangers going close but Turkey's Emrah Yollu scored the only goal in the 12th minute.
Scotland coach Ross Mathie, however, was heartened, saying: "We didn't have a great performance in the first match but we were very proud of the way we played against Turkey."
