Third division: Winters cheer for Lions as points come gift-wrapped
LIVINGSTON 3 Stranraer 0 LIVINGSTON maintained their stronghold on top spot after a comfortable win at home to Stranraer. Former Aberdeen striker Robbie Winters put the hosts ahead courtesy of a blunder by Stranraer's Murray Henderson. The defender dallied, allowing Winters to steal the ball, sidestep the keeper and slot the ball into an empty net.
Livingston again benefited from prematurely festive defending as Keaghan Jacobs tormented Henderson before drilling a cross into the box that Glenn Mitchell turned into his own net.
Andrew Halliday added a third in the 65th minute to seal an easy Lions win.
Annan Athletic 3 Queen's Park 1
TWO late goals handed Annan Athletic a hard-earned win against Queen's Park at Galabank. Mike Jack curled home a sensational effort in the 44th minute to give Annan a half-time lead. Ryan Holmes equalised for Queen's Park in the 57th minute, but an
80th-minute Brian Gilfillan goal put the hosts back in front and Jack sealed the points with a late penalty.
Berwick Rangers 2 Elgin City 0
BERWICK kept the pressure on Livingston with a win over Elgin at Shielfield. Second-half strikes from Andrew McLean and Ian Little were enough for the Wee Gers to claim all three points.
Forfar Athletic 2 Albion Rovers 2
THE spoils were shared in a thriller at Station Park. Ciaran Donnelly gave the visitors an early lead before Forfar's Ian Harty levelled shortly before the break. Harty then fired home in the 65th minute but Pat Walker's stoppage-time strike salvaged a point for Rovers.
