Third Division: Three off as Arbroath sting Annan at Galabank

Arbroath remain top after holding on with nine men to win a stormy game against ten-man Annan Athletic at Galabank 2-1.

The home side had the better chances in the goalless first half, but Arbroath came out in the second half with renewed purpose and David McGowan broke the deadlock on 49 minutes with a left-foot drive. The lead was doubled four minutes later when Gavin Swankie's cross was powered home by the head of Craig Wedderburn.

The away side's luck changed soon afterwards, however, as Stuart Malcolm was dismissed for a professional foul. Annan couldn't take advantagethough , and John MacBeth was dismissed for a second bookable offence. Goalscorer Wedderburn was then shown a red card for a professional foul. The home side pulled a goal back when Graeme Bell's cross was knocked into his own goal by Danny Griffin but Annan could not force an equaliser.

An injury-time goal from Armand One gave Stranraer an invaluable 2-1 win at Albion Rovers. Rovers started brightly, but missed a string of chances. They were punished on 28 minutes when Grant Gallagher's delivery was headed past Derek Gaston by Craig Malcolm.

Further Rovers pressure followed and Stephen Canning and Chaplain both missed from close range as the away side had the lead at the interval.

The home side got the deserved break on 73 minutes when Peter Innes' left-foot shot beat Danny Mitchell. Innes was soon sent off and the visitors showed their determination and three minutes into injury time, One headed an Agnew cross past Gaston.

Clyde notched only their second league win of the season 2-0 against a despondent Berwick.

The opening goal came in 13 minutes when Nicki Paterson's miskicked freekick from the left fell at the feet of John Stewart who lifted the ball over Mark Peat.

Berwick dominated the second half and should have equalised on 50 minutes when good play between Darren Gribben and Paul Currie gave John Grant a clear sight of goal, but he shot past. Gribben cracked a shot against the post with the home side suffering the same fate five minutes later when a fierce Ryan McBeth effort came off an upright.

Substitute Kevin Finlayson beat Peat to a through ball two minutes from time to skip past the keeper and shoot into the empty net.

Brazil missed an easy header but worse was to follow as he was red carded in the last minute for a lunge on Connor Stevenson.
