Third Division: Arbroath forced to battle for draw after Darren Hill's sending-off
LEADERS Arbroath were held 2-2 at Gayfield by Stranraer in an entertaining game where the home side lost a goalkeeper and two goals in the space of a minute.
After a goalless first-half, the unfortunate Declan Gallacher gave Paul Sheerin's men the lead midway through the second half when he diverted a Gavin Swankie shot past his own goalkeeper, Ryan Marshall.
Stranraer refused to buckle and home shot-stopper Darren Hill erred when he ran out of his penalty box 18 minutes from time and handled. After he was dismissed and Darryl Burns had come on for Lee Sibanda to take over between the sticks, Scott Agnew curled home the free-kick to draw Stranraer level.
Within a minute Stranraer were leading when Armand One shot past Burns, but Gavin Swankie then broke into their area and shot home to tie the scores. #
Annan won at the national stadium for the first time ever as they beat Queen's Park 1-0. That made it a club record of five SFL wins in a row. Steven Sloan's winner came after 16 minutes.
Albion Rovers boss Paul Martin was upset with referee, Kevin Clancy, after the 1-1 draw at Elgin. Robert Love's first-half goal for the visitors was matched by Craig Gunn's header in the second with the sending-off of visiting midfielder Steven Canning leaving Martin fuming. He said: "Steven was booked for catching the ball after the assistant had signalled that it had went out of play. He was then dismissed for coming back on after injury when the assistant told him he could but the referee hadn't."
Berwick are still in the hunt for promotion after Alan Brazil's late goal gave them a 1-1 draw with East Stirling with the Borderers now sitting in fifth place. East Stirling took the lead after five minutes when John Neill swept the ball in from the edge of the area.
Clyde beat Montrose 2-0 at Broadwood with John Stewart and Willie Sawyers scoring.
