Annan Athletic 1 Dumbarton 3

DUMBARTON strolled to victory over Annan on a day that saw them awarded the Third Division trophy.

The visitors deservedly took the lead in the 23rd minute when Ross Clark forced home a Ross Forbes cross from close range.

It was 2-0 just after half time, with Denis McLaughlin firing in from a tight angle.

Peter Watson pulled one back for Annan, but Derek Carcary had the last say, scoring a third with minutes to go.

East Stirling 0

Cowdenbeath 2

COWDENBEATH took the points with a 2-0 win over East Stirling in a match acting as a dress rehearsal to the next week's play-off.

John Ferguson stole the show, the 17-year-old capitalising on two mistakes from sub keeper Jamie Newman to put forward a case to start next week.

In 78 minutes he profited after Newman rashly came out for a corner, and flicked in a second with seconds to go after hesitancy in the home defence.

Elgin City 2

Berwick Rangers 0

ELGIN City finished a gloomy league campaign on a high note with a 2-0 victory over Berwick.

Mark Nicholson gave Elgin an early lead when he dispossessed Thomas Lennox before netting with a composed finish.

In the second half, Paul Kaczan and Bryan Cameron combined to set up Ali MacDonald who slotted past Jamie Barclay. To compound Berwick's misery, Jamie Ewart was ordered off in the 82nd minute.

Forfar Athletic 4

Stenhousemuir 4

STENHOUSEMUIR warmed up for the play-offs in thrilling style. They opened the scoring with a superb Iain Thompson free-kick before Kevin Gordon quickly equalised for Forfar. Scott Dalziel put the Warriors back in front until Gordon levelled again.

Forfar looked to have sealed the points as goals from Ross Campbell and Graeme Gibson gave them a 4-2 lead. But Dalziel scored again and Andrew Stirling fired home late on to salvage a point.

Montrose 1

Albion Rovers 0

MONTROSE rounded off a disappointing season with a narrow home win against ten-man Albion Rovers.

The winning goal arrived after only 14 minutes when Hugh Davidson set up defender Gordon Pope who slammed home from close range. Veteran keeper Tony Bullock preserved the hosts' advantage with some excellent saves. Craig O'Reilly should have put Montrose two ahead in the second half but Jamie Ewings, who was later sent off, reacted well to block.
