Third division round-up
Albion Rovers 2 Berwick Rangers 1
BERWICK suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Albion Rovers.
Albion took the lead after 12 minutes as Ian Harty tapped home a Marc McCusker knock down from close range.
The visitors equalised when a Graham Guy free kick was headed into his own net by Marco Andreoni on 33 minutes.
McCusker headed home the winner from a Ross Harris cross on 53 minutes.
Berwick pressed hard but to no avail.
Dumbarton 1 Stenhousemuir 0
DUMBARTON moved into third place with a well-deserved 1-0 win over Stenhousemuir.
Dumbarton struck three minutes before the break as the ball ricocheted off Paul McLeod and substitute Ian Chisholm pounced to fire home.
Paul Tyrrell almost grabbed an immediate leveller for the visitors, but was denied by a marvellous David McEwan save.
Goal hero Chisholm saw his 74th minute header cleared off the line.
East Stirlingshire 3 Forfar Athletic 2
EAST Stirling edged a five-goal thriller at Ochilview, beating Forfar 3-2.
David Dunn put the hosts in front after 18 minutes with a spectacular free-kick. Three minutes later, Andy Rodgers tapped home a Brian Graham cross to double the lead.
Martyn Fotheringham pulled one back before Stephen Tulloch headed an 87th minute equaliser.
But with seconds remaining, veteran striker Colin Cramb curled a stunning free-kick winner.
Elgin City 1 Cowdenbeath 1
ELGIN held on for a point against league-leaders Cowdenbeath.
Graeme Brown gave the Blue Brazil the lead on the hour, after John Dempster set him up for a tap-in.
The Elgin equaliser came with 15 minutes left, Jason Crooks found Kenny Wright, who slotted home.
The visitors should have won the match with just minutes remaining. David Niven brought down Dempster in the box, but the big striker blasted the penalty over.
Montrose 0 Annan Athletic 3
ANNAN blasted past Montrose by 3-0 at Links Park to within four points of their hosts, with two games in hand.
The visitors took the lead after 16 minutes. Scott Anson laid in Graham Bell who fired home via the underside of the bar.
