Third Division: Lennon bemoans Cowdenbeath's lack of a cutting edge

LEADERS Cowdenbeath have stuttered recently, losing their last two games, and manager Danny Lennon is out to stop the rot against Forfar at Central Park tonight.

Lennon said: "We lost on Saturday because we failed to take our chances. Forfar are beginning to enter people's thoughts about a promotion-chasing side so they will get my full respect, but if we take our chances we will do okay."

Forfar manager Dick Campbell will look to freshen things up slightly in his squad as they face their fourth game in only 11 days, although Elliot Smith remains sidelined through suspension.

Campbell said: "We have done well to start turning games in hand into points and long may that continue. Other clubs will be looking over their shoulders at us."

Albion Rovers' move into the fringes of the promotion play-off places was halted on Saturday when fourth-placed Dumbarton beat them 1-0 at Strathclyde Homes Stadium. Paul Martin's side have the chance to leap back over Annan if they repeat their recent win over East Stirling tonight, although they will have to do so without winger Bobby Barr, sent off on Saturday.

Colin Cramb is available for East Stirling after his sending off last week although manager Jim McInally is unlikely to make changes to his side after their fine 4-1 win at Stenhousemuir.

Dumbarton, who have won their past two games, will include trialist striker Paul Craig in their squad again for the visit of Elgin, after manager Jim Chapman failed to get the player released by junior side Benburb at the weekend.

Craig scored in his last game against East Stirling, with Chapman saying: "I was pleased with what I saw last week and am very keen to see Paul in action again.

"We will take nothing for granted against Elgin. Their 6-0 defeat by Annan sounds comprehensive but from all accounts when it was 11 versus 11 Elgin were the better team."

Defender Gary Wilson remains out, with Chapman having a doubt over the fitness of midfielder Ross Clark.

Elgin will be without goalkeeper Andy McNulty, who was sent off at Annan, with Ally Ridgers keeping his place. Manager Ross Jack is also likely to be without youngsters Steven Mackenzie and Alex Jack.
