Third division
THE race for a Third Division play-off spot continues this afternoon as East Stirling host Annan Athletic at Ochilview.
The home side are three points better off than their visitors, but will be taking nothing for granted against the in-form Annan.
The Shire make a welcome return to their temporary home having played six of their last seven matches on the road, but they did however manage to win four of them to give themselves every chance of making the end of season event.
They also sit just six points behind leaders Cowdenbeath, but that deficit will likely prove insurmountable. Annan Athletic, meanwhile, have won five of their last six matches including impressive defeats of Cowdenbeath and Dumbarton.
Should they make it to the play-offs, it would cap a remarkable debut season in the league for Harry Cairney's side, but with tough matches against Stenhousemuir and Dumbarton to come, he will know that there is plenty of work to be done yet.
Athletic will take confidence from their 4-0 thrashing of their hosts the last time the sides met back in January and three points today would go a long way to boosting their promotion chances.
