The Rumour Mill: Friday's football transfer news and gossip

In today's Rumour Mill: Miller finally joins up with Bursaspor; Hibs in talks with Inverness hitman; Brown demands good money for Maguire; plus the rest of the day's news and gossip from the transfer market.

Deal finally agreed over Miller's Turkish move

Rangers have agreed a deal in principle with Bursaspor for Kenny Miller to join the Turkish champions, with the transfer understood to be worth 400,000 to the Ibrox club. (Various)

• Miller has revealed that Birmingham City had their chance to sign him but spent too long dragging their heels. He said: "I feel I gave them every chance. So much so that it maybe cost me other moves. They took so long over it and because it was Big Eck I wanted to give him the best possible chance." (The Sun)

• Bursaspor have also been linked with Miller's former strike partner Kris Boyd. Out-of-favour Boyd has been told he can leave the Championship club by boss Tony Mowbray, and the fact that no fee would be involved has brought the Turkish outfit back to the table. (The Sun)

'Hibs eyeing summer move for Rooney'

Inverness manager Terry Butcher has confirmed that striker Adam Rooney has held talks with Hibs over a possible summer move to Easter Road.

But Caley Thistle are refusing to give up the fight to retain the 14-goal Irishman beyond next summer. (The Scotsman)

• If he does lose Rooney, Butcher identified Raith Rovers striker Gregory Tade as a possible replacement. He said: "We've spoken to Gregory Tade's agent, although we've spoken to quite a few players' agents. Gregory is out of contract at the end of the season. He's a player who did well against us last year in the First Division and is a player we like. That's as far as it's gone at the moment."

Brown won't let Maguire go on the cheap

Aberdeen boss Craig Brown has warned in-form striker Chris Maguire he will not be allowed to leave Pittodrie unless a club bids well over 400,000. The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer but Brown is determined to hold on to him unless a lucrative offer is received. (Daily Express)

Stewart begins search for new club and unpaid wages

Michael Stewart is a free agent and in search of a new club after ripping up his contract with Genclerbirligi over their non-payment of wages. The former Hearts and Hibernian midfielder was injured shortly after joining the Turkish team last summer, and is seeking Fifa's help after they refused to pay him while he was on the sidelines. (The Scotsman)

Duo join Motherwell on loan

Stuart McCall began rebuilding his Motherwell squad yesterday by signing Leeds striker Mike Grella and Walsall winger Steve Jones on loan deals until the end of the season. Both could be involved in Saturday's clash against Hibernian, and McCall hopes to sign at least one more player after losing Nick Blackman, Alan Gow, Marc Fitzpatrick and Mark Reynolds since taking over. (The Scotsman)

• Update: A contravention of FIFA rules means that Grella's move has fallen through because he has already played for two clubs this season.

Holloway: Adam worth '46m'

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is determined not to sell Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam during the transfer window - and feels even better about rebuffing Aston Villa's approaches after seeing what they paid for Darren Bent. Holloway suggested Adam could be worth "46m" due to what Blackpool would earn should they avoid relegation and the Bristolian described Villa's recent offers as "absolutely disgraceful". (The Scotsman)

IN BRIEF

• Celtic have threatened CSKA Sofia with FIFA action unless the Bulgarians stump up a 250,000 payment due for striker Cillian Sheridan, who moved in August.

• Dunfermline have won the race to sign Partick Thistle forward Liam Buchanan. Jags manager Ian McCall did not want to lose the prolific striker but with his contract expiring in the summer, he says "it made financial sense".

• Wolves have signed former Dunfermline winger Adam Hammill for 500,000 from Barnsley.

• Cowdenbeath are set to bring in Rangers striker Archie Campbell, 20, on loan for a month while Kilmarnock's Steven Old is returning to Central Park until the end of the season.

• Albion Rovers have re-signed Scott Chaplain on loan until the end of the season from Dumbarton.

• Steve Kean has signed a long-term contract to remain as manager of Blackburn until 2013.
