The martial art of goalscoring

WATCH out for a wave of Premier League footballers celebrating goals with karate chops in the near future.

Online bookies Betfair are offering 10,000 to the first player who celebrates by 'doing the Taikai' – the name of its new predictions betting game. Every top-flight player has been sent details of how to do the complicated-looking celebration – first raising arms in the air, then a 'crane kick' followed by karate chops. A Betfair source said: "As long as the arms are up and the karate chops are done I'm sure it'll pass the judging panel."
