Tennis: Capital kids’ Open delight

CAPITAL competitors had a clean sweep as the Scottish Junior Tennis Open continued at Craiglockhart.

Blackhall’s Euan McIntosh, top seed in the boys’ under-18 singles, overcame Ben Horton 6-3, 6-2 and in the same event club-mate Reuben Henry came through 6-2, 6-1 against Max Darrington. Henry now faces Thomas Wright, conqueror of the second seed, for a place in the quarter final.

Alexandra Hunter (Waverley), who entered the under-14 girls’ singles as a wild card, saw off Victoria Allen 6-1, 6-1 and now plays third seed Holly Thompson. Both under-12 boys, Alex Mikheev and Jacob Fearnley, won easily.
