Blackhall pair Euan McIntosh and Reuben Henry have swept into the quarter-finals of the Scottish junior tennis Open with minimum fuss.
McIntosh, top seed for the boys’ under-18 singles, defeated Benjamin Clark 6-3, 6-2 while Henry had it even easier when his opponent, Thomas Wright, retired after one game.
Also through is under-12 second seed, Jacob Fearnley, from Craiglockhart who brushed aside Matthew Clegg, 6-2, 6-0.
There was, however, disappointment for two Capital wild card entries. In the girls’ under-14 singles Alexandra Hunter bowed out to third seed Holly Thompson while boys’ under-12 hope Alex Mikheev lost to top seed Jack Draper.
