Stretton canters to under-18 title
TENNIS: Millie Stretton, who helped the Royal High School win last year’s Scottish Schools’ Team Championship, again showed her huge promise by winning the Scottish Indoor Under-18 Championships at Newlands.
As the No 1 seed, the 14-year-old third-year pupil lost only four games on her way to winning her first title at this age group. In the final, she beat Strathgryffe’s Sophie Dunlop, who had scored a shock win over Nairn Academy’s No 2 seed Lisa Munro in the semi-final, by 6-1, 6-1.
