Murray hires fitness trainers but 'no hurry' to find coach
ANDY Murray has teamed up with a new physical conditioner, but insists he is in "no hurry" to find a coach.
The Scot, whose season was dogged by persistent injuries, recently parted company with US coach Brad Gilbert.
Yesterday it was announced on his website, andymurray.com, that he has appointed Matt Little and Jez Green to act as fitness consultants.
"As for getting a new coach, I am in no hurry," said the Scot. "I'm not sure about employing a specialist coach, but it'll definitely be someone I've known for a long time. We will have to see. Next year is a very important year for me. And it's vital I stay healthy for the whole season. I'm sure I'll be fitter and stronger.
"Jez is an English coach who I have known for a long time. He spends five or six months a year in Miami and I will be going there on Sunday to do two weeks of training. He'll oversee my programme with Matt, who will also do some travelling with me."
Meanwhile, John Fitzgerald has been reappointed non-playing captain of Australia's Davis Cup squad for 2008 despite failing to keep the 28-times champions in the elite World Group, having lost a relegation tie against Serbia in September.
