Murray to rotate team of experts

ANDY Murray has signalled his desire to employ a rotating squad of tennis experts following his split with coach Brad Gilbert.

The British No1 confirmed former Davis Cup player and fellow Scot Miles Maclagan will work with him in Florida for an initial three-week period, which could be extended if successful.

But Murray, 20, does not want one permanent coach to accompany him for the entire tennis season. "I found it difficult travelling with one guy all year," he said. "A few people will only travel with me a few weeks at a time and that will keep it fresh.

"I just want what's best for me, and what's best for my career, and I want people to work together to achieve that. I don't want to have too many people involved, probably a maximum of seven or eight people at any one time."

Murray insists his split with Gilbert was not down to a clash of personalities, yet is determined to avoid any conflict in his new set-up.

"With Brad, it wasn't a clash of personalities - there were a lot more things contributing to it than that," he said. "I just felt like I wanted to take control of my tennis."
