Taylor handed Sri Lanka test

EDINBURGH'S best hope for a boxing gold medal in the Junior Commonwealth Games in India, southpaw flyweight ace Josh Taylor, has drawn Sri Lankan opponent M Abeeyasingha in tomorrow's quarter-finals.

Another big eastern hope for a medal in Pune, Fauldhouse light-welterweight Robbie McKee, kicks off the Scottish boxing squad's quest for glory by clashing with Zambian S Silungwe later today. Sean Finney of Kirkcaldy's Kingdom Club will have to wait until Wednesday until he launches his own campaign against India's S Satinder.
