Sweet 16 for Alain
SCOTS skier Alain Baxter earned 16th place in the World Championship slalom in Italy to help erase the memory of a disappointing season.
The Edinburgh-born skier clocked 55.35 seconds on his first run and 49.32secs in the second on the difficult, 61-gate Stelvio piste at Bormio in Italy on Saturday.
His younger brother Noel was 21st with runs of 56.09secs and 51.10secs and Britain’s other skier, James Leuzinger, was 24th in 56.20secs and 52.34secs.
