Super League clubs busy wheeling and dealing
ACTIVITY in the transfer market is stepping up as East Junior Super League clubs look to the fast-approaching new season.
Bo'ness have been particularly busy with Fraser Forrest, Jamie Hay and David McKenna all coming in from Alloa. Andy Shirra has been signed from Stenhousemuir with Danny Main also joining, from Raith Rovers.
Manager Allan McGonigal is rumoured to have two more players in the pipeline while last season's Supporters' Player of the Season, keeper Greg Logan, is on the transfer list alongside Paul Mortimer, Ross Muir, Andy Scott and Jon Tully.
Bonnyrigg have signed Kevin McLeish from Berwick Rangers and are rumoured to be on the brink of another big signing.
Bathgate are still talking to many of their squad and are hopeful most will accept the new deals on offer while Whitburn have a new keeper in Ryan McGurk, signed from Berwick Rangers, and striker Scott Gormley has signed from Whitehill Welfare.
The two newly-promoted sides, Newtongrange Star and Premier League champs Musselburgh, have both been busy with the Star signing Mark Lunn, a keeper from Berwick Rangers, and Jordan Hall from Edinburgh City. Musselburgh have parted company with Paul Currie and Danny Kelly, off to Berwick Rangers and Penicuik respectively, but in come Adam Nelson, who had been on loan from Brechin City, and Calvin Shand from Arniston, Stewart Fraser from Berwick Rangers and goalkeeper Keiron Renton from Stenhousemuir.
At Linlithgow, boss Dave Baikie has so far signed three players; former Scotland Junior internationalist John Ward, Paul Parkin from Whitburn and Andy Kelly from East Stirlingshire.
