Stirling Albion 3-4 Cowdenbeath: Injury time winner seals Albion comeback
Stirling Albion 3 Welsh 40; Mullen 58, 66 Cowdenbeath 4 Ramsey 77, pen 82; Campbell 89; Stewart 90
AN INJURY-TIME winner from substitute Greig Stewart capped a truly astonishing comeback by Cowdenbeath after the Fifers appeared to be down and out after Stirling took a 3-0 lead.
It saw them open up a seven-point lead over their rivals who have still not won a game since 23 October, yet it all looked good for Binos when on-loan Hibs player Sean Welsh coolly dispatched a glorious drive from 12 yards into the roof of the net.
Stirling looked set for victory thanks to a flick from Michael Mullen over the head of goalkeeper David Hay and the same player made it 3-0 in the 66th minute from six yards.
Then it all went horribly wrong.
Mark Ramsey's superb strike from all of 35 yards got Cowdenbeath on the scoresheet and he made it 3-2 from the spot after Scott Buist pulled down Greig Stewart, which also saw Buist red-carded.
Archie Campbell headed in the equaliser and Stewart made it 4-3 with a sensational left-foot winner.
