Stirling Albion 2 - 2 Dumbarton: Stirling miss their chance as Dumbarton leave with point

STIRLING Albion are again ruing a succession of missed chances as they were held at home by Dumbarton.

Albion gave a debut to on-loan Dundee defender Craig McKeown, but it was former Dens Parker David O'Brien who was prominent in the opening seconds as he looked sure to net until his shot was blocked. Ross Forsyth crossed for Bryan Prunty on 12 minutes and his header looked net-bound until the combination of Jan Vojacek and the bar denied him.

Dumbarton raced up the pitch to open the scoring four minutes into second half when Chris Craig netted his first senior goal with a 20-yard shot that was deflected in. Albion levelled on 61 minutes when Andy Gibson cut the ball back to Paul Murphy who side-footed home from eight yards out.

Prunty struck the bar with a fierce drive before the Dumbarton goal had further escapes with defender Chris Smith heading against his own bar, Andy Graham having a header clawed off the line and Prunty misfiring from close in. The Sons broke up the park to score with six minutes left, with Craig picking out substitute Derek Carcary and he slipped the ball in, before substitute Stewart Devine curled home an equaliser for Stirling from 20 yards four minutes later.
