Stephen Lamb produces fine birdie blitz at Crieff
Broomieknowe's Stephen Lamb made eight birdies in a six-under-par round of 65 to pick up the £100 prize for heading a field of 149 in yesterday's Gleneagles Scottish PGA championship qualifying round at Crieff Golf Club.
To claim one of the 24 spots over the King's Course next month a player had to shoot one-under 70 or better. Craig Knowles (Panmure) and Scott Finlayson (Scotland for Golf) both returned 70s but were eliminated in a play-off. The two female professionals in the field, Antonia Ffinch (Aberdour) and Heather MacRae (Downfield), also missed out.
