SPL: Hughes: I'll face the chop if Bairns drop
JOHN HUGHES accepts his job could be on the line if Falkirk fail to avoid Clydesdale Bank Premier League relegation in tomorrow's showdown at Inverness.
Former Hibs defender Hughes has successfully transformed the Bairns since becoming manager six years ago, leading them from the First Division to within a whisker of a top-six place in the SPL last term.
However, despite having a Homecoming Scottish Cup final against Rangers to look forward to, this season has seen the team struggle.
Hughes said: "If the sack comes along with getting relegated to the First Division then so be it.
"I've been six years at the club and I always feel my record speaks for itself.
"But I definitely won't quit, I've never quit anything in my life."
Terry Butcher has revealed his Inverness players are still tearing into each other in training ahead of tomorrow's game.
Caley Thistle boss Butcher recently revealed there was an aggressive edge to training sessions in the Highlands.
"They're still trying to kick seven bells out of each other in training because that's the way they are," he said.
"That just sums the guys up and I can't fault their effort at all and I know I'm going to get that level of commitment again."
