WHAT an embarrassment the Scotland game was on Saturday, but I really feel for George Burley because nothing he tried in these friendly games seemed to come off. It looks like the players were just not interested. The frustration he must feel is obvious but it does seem to me that we have too many players for whom playing for their country is no longer important enough.
Whether any of the potential replacements for Burley that have been mentioned can motivate a change of attitude is open to debate.
This week the Mighty Falkirk Bairns have a visit from Hamilton for a game where the word "vital" seems to understate the point. I had this dream the other night where we won 5-0, so that'll be my bookie bet this week – it could happen, after all we have just signed Pele!
