Men arrested over T–in–park passes

Two men have been arrested in connection with selling fake “VIP” wristbands for Scotland’s biggest music festival.

The counterfeit bands, apparently giving access to T in the Park festival this summer, were being sold via social networking sites and cost in excess of £200. Strathclyde Police said they believe there may have been more than 100 victims of the scam.

The operation involved officers from the force’s major crime and terrorism investigation unit.

The men, aged 23 and 56, were arrested on Tuesday. They are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

Police have warned people who have purchased the blue wristbands, which say “VIP” in black writing, not to try to use them to gain access to the festival site.
